Quotations:
"Like most writers, I started as an adolescent. Writers are just people who never stopped writing. Now, with small children, I have become very disciplined about my work, settling in for about five hours of writing time each day. I try to save my reading for the evenings."
"I began writing for money very early—I was twenty-one when I sold my first article—and have always seen writing as part art and part business. I am the sole proprietor of the shop creating strings of words for use by publishers. It is a specialty market, in the extreme. What I write often depends on what publishers want, or what I think they will buy. Of course, I wouldn’t undertake the labor unless I enjoyed it; the pay is too low."
Hoffman married Judith Ellen Gourse on May 28, 1988. They have 2 children - Marcus and Alicia.
