Graduated from the high school, Missouri Valley, Iowa, 1899. Student Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa, 6 years, specializing in music and literature. Honorary Doctor of Music from Simpson College.
Became assistant vocal instructor in college after 1 year there, and toured middle west in concert and oratorio. Teacher of voice, Des Moines Music College, 1905-1906, Chicago Music College, 1906-1911. Joined Metropolitan Opera Company, New York, 1914, appearing 35 times first season.
Has sung with Apollo Club, Chicago.
