DESBO ROUGH, Commander of the Royal Victorian Order was born in 1855. Son of C. W. Grenfell, M. P., and Georgiana, daughter of Lady Caroline and Right Honourable W. Sebright Lascelles. S. grandfather, C. P. Grenfell, Member of Parliament.

Career
Represented Oxford in three mile race v. Cambridge, 1876; rowed v. Cambridge, 1877-1878.
President, Oxford University Athletic Club and Oxford University Boating Club.
Climbed in the Alps and shot in the Rocky Mountains, India, et cetera Swam twice across Niagara.
Stroked eight across the Channel. Special correspondent second Suakim Campaign.
Member of Parliament Salisbury, 1SS0, 1885.
