Jim Campbell started practicing law in Calhoun County in 1966, upon his graduation from the Emory University School of Law. In 1990, Chris Hopkins left his firm in Alexandria, Virginia, where he was a name partner, to join Jim.
The new firm was named Campbell & Hopkins. In February of 1991, Virginia Emerson Hopkins joined the firm after resigning her partnership in Taft, Stettinius & Hollister, thus becoming the third consecutive generation of her family to practice law in Calhoun County.
