Hill, Claude Eugene was born on January 11, 1874 in Pike County, Missouri, United States. Son of Thomas V. and Keturah (Lewellyn) Hill.

Education

Educated Chillicothe (Missouri) Normal School, 1892-1893, University of Chicago, 1901. Honorary Master of Arts, Christian U., Canton, Missouri, 1912. Doctor of Divinity, University of Chattanooga, 1921.

Career

Ordained ministry Disciples of Christ Church, 1896. Pastor successively first Church, Mobile, Valparaiso and Chattanooga, to 1923, First Christian Church, Tulsa, 1923-1948, emeritus. Chaplain Hillcrest Memorial Hospital, Tulsa.

President Alabama Christian Endeavor, Union. 1905-1907, nat. superintendent Christian Endeavor, Disciples of Christ, 1906-1918. Trustee International Society of Christian Endeavor, 1906-1918.

Member Executive Committee International Convention, Disciples of Christ, 1923-1926. Chairman Peace Commission, same denomination, 1926, member Commision on Ministry, 1926-1930. Fraternal delegate to Churches of Christ, Great Briatin, 1932.

President National Evangelistic Association, 1932-1933. Director Christian Board of Publs., St. Louis. Director German Evangelistic Society.
