1900 graduate Kiev 2nd Boys’ High School. 1907 graduate Medical Vac, Saint Vladimir University, Kiev.
While still a student prepared specimens for Chair of Anatomy and attended lectures at university Surgical Clinic. Suspended from university for two years for participation in student strikes. 1907-1909 assistant dissector, Chair of Anatomy, Kiev University.
Simultaneously, assistant to Professor North.P.Trofimov, Ear, Nose and Throat Department, Kiev Military Clinical Hospital and assistant professor, Chair of Otolaryngology, Kiev University. Studied surgical techniques at various university surgical clinics. 1909 — 10 underwent further training in otolaryngology in Berlin and Lausanne.
While abroad wrote doctor’s thesis on foreign bodies in otolaryngologicai practice and developed several instruments for removing them from the ears, nose, larynx and oesophagus. After completion of specialist training toured otolaryngologicai clinics in Austria, Britain, France, Germany and Switzerland. After return to Kiev senior intern, Military Clinical Hospital and assistant to Professor Trofimov at Kiev University.
Also maintained a large private practice and provided free treatment for the needy at Pokrovski Monastery Hospital. Simultaneously held special courses on otolaryngology at Military Hopsital and Kiev Clinical Institute (now Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training). 1909-1914 attended all Russian and international otolaryngological congresses and was active in League of Cities and Russian Otolaryngological Social.
1911 co-founded Saint George Social of Medical Specialists and special hospital and polyclinic in Kiev with the then most modem equipment and facilities. 1915-1917 served in army, first as senior surgeon, 147th Voronezh Volunteer Unit, then as a brigade surgeon. 1917 resumed work in Kiev.
1920 ceased work at Prokrovskiy Monastery Hospital and Saint George Hospital after their nationalization. 1923 retired from post at Kiev Military Hospital and gave up work at Chair of Otolaryngology, Kiev University when the Russian-language course was closed. Did most of his teaching and clinical work at the Clinical Institute.
Also worked at Saint George Polyclinic and Red Cross Hospital. Until 1937 head, Ear, Nose and Throat Department, Garison Polyclinic, Kiev Oblast Militia. December 1939 arrested by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs and sentenced to ten years imprisonment in a concentration camp near Karaganda.
