Bachelor of Arts, University of Michigan, 1880. Unmarried. Principal high school, Manistee, Michigan, 1881-1882. In real estate business (Whitehead Brothers), Denver, 1883-1903.

Admitted to bar at Denver, 1889, but never practiced. Director, secretary or treasurer Colorado Humane Society, 1887-1907. Director and secretary State bureau of Child and Animal Protection, Colorado, since 1901.

Founder of Sunrise Foundation.
