Elka Sagoroff Spoerri spent more than 20 years of her career to promoting the work of artist, author, poet, and composer Adolf Wolfli. She edited Wolfli’s works and wrote and edited works about the artist. Spoerri also was the curator and director of the Adolf Wolfli Foundation at the Museum of Fine Arts in Berne. Spoerri edited a collection of writing titled Adolf Wolfli: Draughtsman, Writer, Poet, Composer and two-volume version of his autobiography, From the Cradle to the Grave, and Geographical Book No. 11: Writings, 1912-1913. She was also a co-writer of a lexicon of 20th-century Swiss artists.
Spoerri worked on more than thirty exhibitions of Wölfli's work. In 1996 she retired from the Wölfli foundation but was a curator of the Wölfli retrospective.
Elka Sagoroff Spoerri was a member of AICA.
Elka Sagoroff Spoerri married Theodor Spoerri on July 9, 1955. They had one child - Anselm.
