Brown, Elliott Wilber was born on August 25, 1859 in West Brookfield, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Edwin T. and Elizabeth R. (Marsh) Brown.

Bachelor of Arts, Wabash College, 1885, A.M., 1888, Doctor of Divinity, 1904. Graduate McCormick Theological Seminary (now Presbyterian Theological Seminary of Chicago), 1888.

Career

Ordained Presbyterian ministry, 1888. Pastor 1st Church, Seattle, Washington, 1888-1892. Westminster Church, Detroit, 1892-1894, 2d (now Westminster) Church, Dubuque, Iowa, 1894-1899, Congregational Church, Glen Ridge, New Jersey, 1899-1909, St. Nicholas Avenue Church (now North Presbyterian Church), New York, 1915-1925, 1st Congregational Church, Holyoke, Massachusetts, 1928-1933.

Vice-moderator Presbytery of New York, 1923-1925, also trustee. Member Moderators’ Council. Member board of managers American Tract Society, member standing committee New York Federation of Churches.

Formerly moderator Presbytery of Puget Sound and of Congressional Association of New Jersey.
