Graduate South Carolina. Military Academy, November 18, 1857. Assistant professor same, 1858-1860.

Career

Served major, lieutenant colonel, colonel and brigadier general in C.S.A., 1861-1865. Severely wounded at Jackson, Mississippi, May 14, 1863. At Chickamauga, September 20, 1863, and at Franklin, Tennessee, November 30, 1864.

Secretary state South Carolina., 1867-1868. Entered P.E. ministry, 1867. Rector Christ Church, Greenville, South Carolina., for 20 years.

St. Paul’s Selma, Alabama, 1 year. Trinity, Columbia, South Carolina., 6 yrs. P.E. bishop of South Carolina., from 1893.
