Practiced law, Chicago, 1882-1890, then studied for ministry. Ordained 1891; rector Church of the Atonement, Chicago, 1891-1896, Grace Church, Freeport, Illinois, 1896-1899, St. John’s, Dubuque, Iowa, 1899-1902. Consecrated bishop of Olympia, January 8, 1902.
