Educated Phillips Exeter Academy, N.H. Lectures, Massachusetts Institute Technology. In architectural offices of William R. Ware (later Ware & Van Brunt), Boston.

Left office of William Ralph Emerson, 1869, to go abroad for a year. Studied in atelier under Emil Vaudremer, Paris.

Career

Associate in practice with Arthur Rotch, as Rotch & Tilden, 1880-1894, practiced alone, since 1894. Designed and erected many church, library and school buildings, private residences in Maine, Boston, Washington, Charleston, South Carolina., etc.
