Simmons served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. He held various administrative positions at LTV Corporation in 1949-1969. Then Glenn became a director of Administration of LTV`s computer technology subsidiary.
In 1969, he was appointed a vice president at Contran Corporation & Affiliates. Eleven years later Simmons took a position of a president at National City Lines & Affiliates, where he worked until 1984. Also in 1982, he became a research and chief executive officer at Keystone Consolidated Industries, Inc. Since 1984 Glenn was a chief executive officer and director at Keycon Industries, Inc.
Simmons faithfully served on the planning and development committee of First Baptist Dallas.
Simmons served on the Board of Directors of Contran Corporation, Inc., Keystone Consolidated Industries, Inc., CompX International, Inc., NL Industries, Inc. and Kronos Worldwide, Inc.
On December 6, 1975 Glenn Simmons married Diane Gee Callaway. They have three children.
