Forman began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at Nagoya University in 1998 and had held the position for three years. In 2002, he took a position of a chief scientist at Sasol Technology Limited. Then in 2008, Grant was appointed a greenhouse gas (GHG) consultant at Sasol Chevron. In 2009, he became a New Energy & Life-Cycle GHG manager at Sasol Technology Limited.
In 2011, Forman held a position of a GTL and Chemicals CO2 Manager at Sasol Limited. Since 2015 he has been a senior sustainability strategy manager at that company.
Member of the Japanese Society for Promotion of Science.
On October 28, 2000 Grant Forman married Akiko Nagatsuka. They have two children.
