Ordained Evangelical Lutheran ministry, 1899. Pastor St. Peter’s Church, Chicago, 1899-1915. Instructor O.T. exegesis, 1905-1915, professor, 1915-1920, Chicago Lutheran Theological Seminary.

Professor O.T. exegesis and secretary Chicago Lutheran Division School, 1920-1921. Professor O.T. exegesis and secretary of the faculty, Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary, since 1921. Contributor to New Testament Commentary (Second Thessalonians).
