Career

Ordained ministry Christian (Disciples) Church, 1898. Pastor Meridian, Mississippi, Selma, Alabama, Port Gibson, Mississippi, 1899-1903, Chattanooga, 1903-1916, Georgetown, Kentucky, 1916-1935. Professor of Old Testaments, Christian doctrine and general apologetics, Cincinnati Bible Seminary, since 1939.

Organized Juvenile Court, Chattanooga, an organizer of Chattanooga bureau of Municipal Research. Chaplain South Carolina.V. of Tennessee, rank of colonel. Has delivered addresses at nat. and international conventions of the Christian Church.

Selected by committee of Tennessee preachers to affirm the scripturalness of instrumental music in church worship in debate lasting 5 nights. Member of advisory committee of Christian Women’s Benevolent Association of St. Louis, Yotsuya Missions, Japan. Trustee Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

Dedicated the Dixie Highway, Cincinnati, September 1921. Director Dixie Highway Association. Director Cincinnati Lookout Mount Air-line Highway Association.

Member Pi Gamma Mu, Kappa Sigma.
