ordained Baptist ministry, 1878. Pastor Carrollton, Illinois, 1878-1881, First Church, Kansas City, 1881-1885. Joined Unitarian Church and was pastor Unitarian Church, Kansas City, 1887-1897.

Left Unitarian Church, 1897, and organized The Church of This World, Kansas City, of which was pastor until 1910. Organized, 1912, and since lecturer, Chicago Society of Rationalism. Author of many published addresses.
