In employ various companies until 1891. General manager Lafayette St. Railway Company, 1891-1894. Superintendent overhead construction, West Side, Chicago, for J. R. Chapman (now of London Tube System), 1894-1895.

Constrg. engineer and superintendent, Los Angeles Traction Company, 1895-1896. Constrg. engineer Pasadena St. Railway, 1897. Entered government service, 1898.

Instructor engineering, Wind-River School, 1898-1900. Transferred to Washington, District of Columbia, in 1900, as consulting and constructing efficiency engineer in charge Department of Interior buildings, Patent Office, Land Office, Pension Building, Freedman’s Hospital, Howard U. heat, light & power plant, etc.

Inventor and patentee various mechanic devices for st. rys., automobiles, etc.
