Józef worked as a teacher in Poland (in the districts of Grodno, Białystok and Warsaw) and also in a Polish school in Denmark. He was also an accountant and financial inspector in schools and cooperative institutions.
Background
Józef Łapiński was born as a son of Józef and Aleksandra in Łapy. He had one brother and three sisters. Since his father died a month before Józef was born, the financial situation in the family, which had 3 hectares of farmland, was difficult. His mother was only able to pay for Józef's education.
Education
He was graduated from the State Teachers' Seminar in Łomża (19/06/1926). From 1932 to 1933 Józef passed preparatory courses for teachers before working in Polish schools abroad. From 1935 to 1939 he was a student of the Free Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
On 1945 Józef writes his Master's thesis "Rawa Subfaculty School on Committee National Education times ", passes the master's exam, receives a Master's degree in philosophy and pedagogy.
On 1945 obtains a secondary school teacher's diploma in pedagogy and philosophy propedutics after passing examinations before the State Examinations Committee in Warsaw.
Career
From 1926 to 1933 he worked as a teacher of a primary school in Lida and from 1933 to 1934 he worked in a Polish school in Denmark as a teacher. From 1939 to 1941 he has worked as a teacher of a Secondary School in Jasienica.In 1941 he moved with his wife Halina and son Mieczysław to his hometown of Łapy, where he worked in the railway company. On 12/06/ 1944 Józef with many other men from Łapy was deported to the Nazi German concentration camp in Oranienburg and then transferred to the Nazi German concentration camp Sachsenhausen ( number 83062). On 22/04/1945 Jozef and others were released from a nazis German concentration camp. From the end of 1945, Jozef was worked as a director of the High School in Wysokie Mazowieckie and from 1947 as a Visitor of the School District Board of Białystok
From 1948 Józef and his family moved to Warsaw where he has worked in the Financial and Economic Department of the Burs and Scholarship Society in Warsaw. From 1952 he has worked as Senior Financial Inspector at Head Office of Horticultural Cooperatives.
From 1952 to 1967 maths teacher in evening schools for working people.
