Background

Dorliak, Ksenia was born on January 11, 1882 in Petersburg into a rich aristocratic family of French ancestry.

Education

Pupil of S. Gladkaia and N. Iretskaia.

Career

Her mother was a lady-in-waiting to the Tsarina Aleksandra, wife of Nicholas II. Mother of the singer Nina Dorliak, and the actor Dmitrii Dorliak. Professor at the Petrograd Conservatory, 1918. Professor at the Moscow Conservatory from 1930.

Doctor of art history. Among her pupils were N. Dorliak, E. Kruglikova, S. Kromchenko, T. Talakhadze, and T. Ianko.
