Moira Anderson Allen was born on January 1, 1959, in Santa Rosa, California, United States. She is the daughter of Victor Roland and Muriel Ann (Drake) Anderson.
In 1981 Moira got a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. She also received a Master of Education in Counseling from Boston University in 1991.
Moira Anderson Allen started her career as a technical writer at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland in 1984. She also was a freelance writer from 1979 to 1994.
In 1985 Allen was an editor of Dog Fancy, San Juan Capistrano, and in 1987 she became an owner and publisher of Peregrine Press as well as consultant editor at Research and Development Corporation. From 1988 to 1989 Moira served as a publication marketing assistant.
In 1996 she became a freelance writer in Olympia and in 1997 Allen took a position as an adjunct writing professor at South Puget Sound Community College, Olympia.
Since 2001 Allen is an owner and of the Writing-World.com, one of the largest and most popular destinations for writers on the web and winner of numerous awards for "best website for writers."
