Niki Collins-Queen is an American retired Licensed Professional Counselor who worked as a children's therapist for 20 years at a public mental health center in Macon, Georgia. She has been leading backpack, canoe and sailing trips for outdoor groups since 1980.
Background
Niki Collins-Queen was born on June 15, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States to Nicholas La Rocca, a Merchant Marine ship captain, and Elizabeth Seymour (Crous) La Rocca, a physician. She grew up in South Africa and at age 21 returned to the United States to meet her father.
Education
Niki attended University of the Witwatersrand from 1969 to 1971. She graduated from Mercer University with Bachelor's degree in 1978 and from Fort Valley Slate College with Master's degree in 1989.
After extensive travels as a Pan American flight attendant Niki moved to middle Georgia. She served a child and family therapist in River Edge Behavior Health Center in Macon, Georgia. She was ordained a minister of Alliance of Divine Love in 1986. She also was a chairperson in Macon Child Abuse Task Force, a hospice volunteer and a Group leader for wilderness trips.
Niki is fond of canoeing, backpacking, hiking, sailing and skiing.

Niki married Jeff Collins in 1973. After they divorced in 1978 she married John Nakles in 1985. They divorced in 1988 and on May 2, 1998 she married Bud Queen, a military purchasing officer. She has two stepchildren from third marriage, Bud, Jr. and Karen.
