Archbishop of Lima since 1933. On the occasion of the Fourth Centenary of the Spanish foundation of Cuzco Monseñor Farfán revived the splendor of the Catholic cult according to the religious traditions of Colonial Perú. With an imposing procession he commemorated the Fourth Centenary of the entrance of the Cross into Cuzco, November Instruction Section, 1933.
He received from Pope Pius XI autograph letters of congratulation on Golden Jubilee of his episcopate (1932) and on the Fourth Centenary of Cuzco (1934).
