Career
His biography is not well known, and conflicting statements regarding his life are foundation He appears to have lived in Breslau from c. 1814, and moving to Berlin, where he may have become chief rabbi, shortly before his death.
He published mainly poetry, including Hebrew translations of German poetry, and one dramatic work.
He also wrote for the journals Sulamith, Jedidja and Rheinische Blätter. A collection of short tales was published posthumously.
