Gün Temür was the eldest son of Elbeg Nigülesügchi Khan.
Gün Temür was the eldest son of Elbeg Nigülesügchi Khan.
He ruled from 1400 to 1402. In an attempt to consolidate his control over Qara Delegate in Hami, the Khagan murdered Engke-Temur who allied with the Ming Dynasty. In 1402, he was defeated by Gulichi (possibly with Arughtai), who killed him as a result.
His name, Gün Temür, means "Deep (intellectually) Iron" in the Mongolian language.
