He was ranked among the top prep players in the national class of 2015 by Rivals.com, Scout.com and Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.
As a senior, he was named Indiana Mr. Basketball and led Homestead to a state title. He was ranked as a top-20 national prospect in his class.
He was named a McDonalds All-American.
Swanigan averaged 22.6 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior. On April 10, 2015, Caleb Swanigan committed to Michigan State.
On May 7, Swaningan decommitted from Michigan State. Then on May 19, he committed to Purdue.
At the beginning of his freshman season, Caleb was named as Purdue"s starting power forward.
He set a Purdue University record for most rebounds by a Freshman (247 as of March 6, 2016) and was named to the 2016 Big Ten All Freshman Team.
On June 18, 2015, Swanigan was announced as a member of the 12-man 2015 United States of America Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team for the 2015 International Basketball Federation Under-19 World Championship.
