Merobaudes was the official laureate of Valentinian III and Aetius.
He was the author of The Panegyric and minor poems, which have been edited by Niebuhr (1824) and by Immanuel Bekker in the Bonn Corpus scriptorum hist (1836). Merobaudes also upheld the authorship of the De Christo in T. Birt's Claudian (1892).
