Career

Messenger boy, later clerk in art store until 1887. Appointed superintendent Wells Memorial Institute, 1888, and 2 years later appointed superintendent People’s Institute, Roxbury, holding both positions. President Paul Revere Trust Company, 1911 until sold to State St. Trust Company, of which is director.

Trustee Home Savings Bank.

Membership

Served as Second lieutenant 5th Provisional Militia, Spanish-American War. Member Executive Committee on Salem fire and San Francisco earthquake.
