Has taken numerous prizes, including medal at Antwerp Exposition, 1894 and in various European, American, Canadian and Mexico competitions. Declined offer of Mexican government of place at head of a national school of ceramic decoration.
Invented and patented gas-kilns for firing decorated china and glass.
Founded and was 1st president National League of Mineral Painters. Medal at Paris Exposition, 1900, when the exhibit of potting was made by invitation of the United States Commission.
