Currie, Thomas White was born on January 23, 1879 in Durango, Falls County, Texas, United States. Son of David Mitchell and Ira Ione (White) Currie.


Bachelor of Arts, Austin College, Sherman, Texas, 1907, Doctor of Divinity, 1915. Bachelor of Divinity, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 1911. Master of Arts, University of Texas, 1911.

Doctor of Laws, Daniel Baker College, Brownwood, Texas, 1937.


Formerly clerk, bookkeeper, salesman. General secretary University of Texas Young Men’s Christian Association, 1911-1920. Associate Professor of English Bible, 1911-1920, president and professor church history and English Bible since 1920, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Also pastor of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church of Dallas, Texas, 1932-1937. Secretary Young Men’s Christian Association war work department, 1917-1918, also active in Liberty Loan Red Cross and European relief drives. Teacher Bible, summer camps, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, La and South Carolina., Nebraska and Virginia Moderator of General Assembly of Presbyterian Church in the United States, May 1930-May 1931.

Member Executive Committee Schools and Colls., Synod of Texas, Presbyterian Church in the United States Republican.
