Emperor Godaigo became his follower and appointed him abbot of Daigoji Temple and concurrently superintendent priest of Tennoji Temple.
He prayed to Buddha for the destruction of Takatoki Hojo (Prime Minister of the Kamakura Sliogv^nate) and in 1330, was found out and exiled to Iwojima Island.
Was called back to Kyoto the following year and was reinstated as superintendent priest of Tennoji Temple and also appointed chief priest of Toji Temple. Later was again exiled to Kai Province (Yamanashi Prefec-ture) as priests of Mt. Hiei accused him of paganism.
In 1351, Emperor Gomurakami re¬appointed him as chief priest of Toji Temple. Later he followed the Em¬peror to Kongoji Temple in Kawachi Prov¬ince (Osaka Prefecture) and worked hard for the cause of the South Dynasty.
