1925 graduated Medical Faculty, Tartu University.
Helped found Tartu Society of Physicians, of which he was several times elected Chairman. 1929 on science mission in Austria, Germany and France. Organized reconstruction of medical fac., university clinics and municipal public health services whose work was disrupted by World War II.
1948 and 1957 elected Deputy, Tartu City Soviet. Author of numerous works on gastric surgery, comparative methods of antisepsis and problems of general surgery. 1925-1938 Assistant, then lecturer, Tartu University.
For several years was Director, Tartu Clinics Board.
