Career
From 1889 worked for and then virtually directed journal “Severnyy vestnik”, where he presided as the ideologist of the Decadence movement and an advocated of idealistic esthetics. 1898, after the journal closed down, concentrated on the history of painting, theater and music 1911 edited memoirs and letters of Richard Wagner.
After 1917 October Revol studied ballet, directed a choreographic technicum and published a study of dance Kniga likovaniy (The Book of Exultation) (1925). 1920-1924 chairman, Leningrad Branch, Soviet Writers’ Union.
