This was her first attempt at the title, although she placed first runner-up in the Mission Wyoming 2002 pageant. Norman graduated from Rock Springs High School in 2002 and later earned a degree in finance from the University of Wyoming. While at the University, she was one of eight students in a group which gained permission to invest up to $1 million from the Wyoming Permanent Land Fund.
She won the Mission Wyoming United States of America 2005 title and competed in the Mission United States of America 2005 pageant. Norman won the Mission Wyoming United States of America title in a state pageant held in Casper, Wyoming on 24 October 2004. Norman represented Wyoming in the nationally televised Mission United States of America 2005 pageant which was broadcast live from Baltimore, Maryland on April 12, 2005. She did not place during the nationally televised pageant, which was won by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina.
