Commissioned 1st lieutenant Jordan Army, 1949, advanced through grades to major general, 1965, retired, 1969. Commanding officer Base Hospital, 1956-1960. Director-general, ear, nose and throat consultant Royal Medical Services, Jordanian Armed Forces, Amman, 1960-1969.

Professor ear, nose and throat Medical College, University Jordan, since 1971, president, 1971-1978, 80-90, trustee, since 1962. Minister health and preministry affairs Government of Jordan, 1969-1971, minister education, 1976-1979, prime minister, since 1993, minister defense and foreign affairs, since 1993, minister defense.
