Abdoulaye Lamana began his primary studies at the Massenya Primary School in 1944 and then at the Fort-Lamy Center where he obtained his Primary Elementary Certificate ( CEPE) in 1950. Admitted to the Modern College of Bongor in 1951 (the only one of the time), he will receive his first-cycle diploma (BEPC). From 1959 to 1961 he was admitted to the Institut des Hautes Études d'Outre-Mer in Paris, where he received his diploma as a Civil Administrator and Major in his promotion in Chad.
Promoted to Public Service Inspector and then to Deputy Director of Finance (1961-1962), he became Director of Finance in July 1962. In 1963 he was elected to the Political Bureau and was appointed Minister of Economy and Transport in January 1964.
He became President of the Board of Air Chad in 1965. In 1968 he added Finance to his ministerial portfolio but following the March 1971 PPT Congress, he left the government to become managing director of Coton Chad.
After the 1971 Congress he was chosen to become the PPT treasurer- general and vice-president of the Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs.

He died on 20 August 2015 in Brussels. He was married and the father of thirteen children.
