1894 graduate Tiflis secondary school. Studied at Oriental Faculty, Saint St. Petersburg University.
1892 first work published;.Pu6/: tragedy ’The Ravaged Nest" (1896) depicted the soc crisis of a noble family in the late 19th Century. Play ”An Unfortunate Young Manitoba” (1900) was the first attempt in Azer drama to portray a democrat engaged in fighting the patriarchal and feudal soc order. Play Aga Mukliammed shakh Kadzhar (1907) depicted a typical Oriental despot.
From 1906 wrote for democratic journal Molla Nasreddin and published numerous stories, feuilletons and articles such as: "Letters from Hell”. ’The Bomb”; "Mozalanbek’s Journey”. ”My Deer”; post-revol works portrayed the struggle to build a new soc in the Azer village and criticized survivals of the past
Such works included: "In the Shade of a Tree”. "Women's Holiday”; ’The Old House”. ’’Excellent,” etc; sketch "From the History of the Azerbaydzhani Theater” (1924).
