  • Achievements include research in structure, stability and function of modified (glycated) hemoglobin and myoglobin from normal and pathological conditions, for example, diabetes mellitus. Research in identifying source of oxidative stress in diabetes mellitus. Research in identification of antidiabetic agents from herbal sources.

    Research in Drug-protein interactions: Effects of phenothiazines and photosensitizing drugs on different proteins were studied and their side effects were suggested. Research in Bacterial cell division and membrane biology: OriC-membrane attachement involved in bacterial cell division was studied. Research in Cancer biology: Mechanism of action of wild type and mutant p53 was studied.

    Also worked on biochemical studies of leukemia and lymphoma. Research in Developmental biology: Studied lipid and membrane-bound enzymes in placental membranes during development.
