Abhijit Dutta, Indian, American chemical engineer. Achievements include development of a mathematics model for blood flow in elastic arteries and found for the first time that phase angles between pressure and flow waveforms can have a marked effect on wall shear stress and hence in the process of atherogenesis; developed closure models for turbulent reacting flows starting from mechanistic models.
