Career
She is active in theater and television and recently made her film debut in the Ashutosh Gowarikar film Jodhaa Akbar. She trained under Daisy Irani at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, and through a theater workshop at Ek Jute. She is also well versed in Kathak and Hindustani classical music
She is the niece of Kumkum, a popular film actor of the 1950s and 1960s.
Theater She played Juliet in the Nadira Babbar production of Romeo and Juliet directed by Atul Tiwari, and the lead Razaia Sajjad Zaheer in the play Roshnai ka Safar under direction of Nadira Babbar. She was also in Sone ki Machli, and another Babbar directed play, Pencil se Brush Tak, based on the life of artist M. F. Hussain.
She remains actively associated with the Ek Jut theater company. Television She played the central character in the 2006 television documentary Reflections in a Mirror.
The experimental film is based on the turmoil of human emotions and revolves around the trials and tribulations of a person seeking her own true identity.
Film Her first behind the scenes endeavor as an Assistant Director was. She made her screen debut as the character Bakshi Banu Begam, the sister of Akbar (Hritik Roshan), in the Ashutosh Gowarikar film Jodhaa Akbar.
