Active in 1905-1911 Revol in Iran. 1916 published revol-democratic Kermanshah newspaper “Bisotup”. 1917 emigrated to Turkey following British occupation of Iran.
Published in Istanbul Persianand French-language newspaper “Pars”. 1922 headed 2nd Tabriz Revolt (the “Lakhuti-Khan Revolt”) and, after this was suppressed, emigrated to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. 1923-1925 worked for Centr Publ House of Peoples of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics, Moscow.

1907 first verse published wrote on Persian, Tadzh and international themes. In his latter years published three books of selected verse, mainly from his wartime period, worked on an autobiographical book and translated Russian and world classics. Translated: Pushkin’s poetry.

Toward end of World War 2 wrote text for national anthem of Tadzhik Soviet Socialist Republic. 1941 his poem Kuznets Kova (Kova the Smith) served as the libretto for A. Balasanyan’s opera of the same name.
