Instructor pharmacy, Tulane University, 1887-1896. Professor of chemistry and medical jurisprudence, same, 1896-1920. Also head department chemistry, 1908-1918, professor of chemistry and toxicology, pharmaceutical department, 1908-1920, and professor of chemistry and metallurgy, dental department, 1909-1920—all Tulane University.
Now emeritus.
Served as city chemist, New Orleans, chemist Louisiana State Board Health and of New Orleans Board of Health, many years. Member American Chemical Society, et cetera Mason (33°).
Married Cecile Marx, of New Orleans, July 9, 1890. Children: Waldemar Rice, Mistress Amalie Kahn, Ruth Matas.
