Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, 1877-1883, 1886-1888
under V.Perov, V.Makovskii, A.Savrasov, V.Polenov and I.Prianishnikov, also studied at the Petersburg Academy of Arts, 1884-1886, under B.Villevalde, K.Venig and P. Chistiakov. Landscape and genre painter. People’s artist of the RSFSR, 1927.
Member of the Tovarishchestvo Peredvizhnykh Khudozhestvennykh Vystavok from 1891. Member of the Union of Russian Painters from 1904. Took part in the following exhibitions: AllRussian Exhibition, Nizhnii Novgorod, 1896.
