Career
Sayeed was the Information Minister of Bangladesh from June 6, 1996 - July 15, 2001. He was elected by a wide margin of votes in the National Assembly election of the then-united Pakistan in 1970. He was designated as the governor of Pabna district by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975.
Sayeed has been known for his criticism of the military government.
Sayeed has been a professor at of Rajshahi University.
