Career
In 2002, he was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize for Modern History. As of Summer 2015, he is a professor of history at Columbia University. After graduating in economics from Cambridge, Tooze studied at Freie Universität Berlin before moving to London School of Economics for a doctorate in economic history.
