Education
He joined the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore in 1962 graduating four years later in miniature painting. He was a contemporary of, amongst others, Bashir Mirza, Salahuddin Mian and Ahmed Khan.

Of these, 400 have been printed including 50 for foreign countries. He was employed between 1967 and 2002, by Pakistan Security Printing Press in its design department in Karachi. lieutenant was during this period that he designed the stamps.
Achievements

He was awarded the President"s Pride of Performance in 1988. In 1986, he was declared the best designer in the Ecology countries (Iran, Pakistan and Turkey) and awarded a gold medal at the exhibition, ECOPHILEX "86. On 14 August 2009, he was named recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz. The actual ceremony took place on 23 March 2010 at the Governor House, Karachi.
