1889 co-founded Polish Workers’ Union. 1893 helped found Social-Democratic Party of the Kingdom of Poland, then Social-Democratic Party of the Kingdom of Poland and Lith (SDPKJPL). Member of itsMain Board.
Edited Party organs “Sprawa robolnicza” then “Przeglad socjal-demokratyczny”. 1905-1907 active in revol movement in Poland. SDKPL deleg at 2nd and 4th Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congresses.
1906, after SDKPL was amalgamated in Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party, he represented SDKPL on Central Committee, Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party. Several times arrested and exiled. 1918 helped merge SDKPL with Polish (Leftist) Socialist Party into Communist Workers’ Party of Poland - Polish Communist Party.
1919-1929 member, Central Committee, Polish Communist Party. 1923 elected Political Bureau member, Central Committee, Polish Communist Party. 1926 Polish Communist Party deputy in Sejm.
1921, 1922, 1924 and 1928 attended 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Communist International Congresses. March 1929 forced to emigrate to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. Worked on history of Polish workers’ movement at Institute of Marx-Engels-Lcnin.
1937 arrested by State Security organs.
