One time prominent in the commercial life of the community, died Monday morning at a local hospital after an illness of two months. Mr.Kayser was mayor for one term, from 1914 to 1916, succeeding John B Heim, who was also his neighbor for a lifeteme on East. Gorham Saint The Kayser home is now at 425 North. Livingston Street.Mr Kayser was born in the little village of Frechen, near Cologne, on the Rhine, in Germany, on January 28, 1851. He was the son of Mr. and Mistress
Theodore Kayser.
Later the family moved to Madison. In 1881, Mr. Kayser was married to Hedwig Stein, daughter of the late Christian Stein. Foreign a number of years he was associated with the C. P. Stein Lumber Company, which was incorporated as the A. H. Kayser Lumber Company upon the death of Christian Stein.
