Career
He is based at AJE’s World headquarters in Doha and presents programmes from there. Finighan"s interest in broadcast news journalism began in his early teens. After leaving school, he was offered the chance to study "on the job" for a recognised journalism qualification with the South Wales radio station where he had been working part-time since the age of 16.
Finighan joined the British Broadcasting Corporation in 1988, working at British Broadcasting Corporation Local Radio as a reporter and producer.
He later moved on to national radio, becoming a newsreader on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1 and British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 2 prior to moving into television news by joining the British Broadcasting Corporation"s Business Unit. He later became a regular presenter on international news channel British Broadcasting Corporation World, as well as appearing on United Kingdom domestic counterpart, British Broadcasting Corporation News 24.
He joined Cable News Network International from the British Broadcasting Corporation in early 2006 and worked there until 2010. Finighan made a short appearance as a news anchor in the movie V for Vendetta.
