With a record of 17-4-2, every loss or draw has been either a "split decision" or a "majority decision" with some being considered robberies against Granados. Granados had an amateur record of 75-12. That same year he ranked 5th in National Rankings at junior welterweight.
Granados was also on the Mexican Olympic Team Reserve.
On September 17, 2011 Granados beat the veteran Trenton Titsworth at the International Union of Railways (UIC, French: Union Internationale des Chemins de fer) Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. Granados lost a majority decision to Manuel Félix Díaz for the World Boxing Council Central American Boxing Federation title.
Granados fought on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather, Junior. versus Manny Pacquiao. On that card Granados lost to Brad Solomon by split decision.
